A Journey for the King...what will YOU do with Jesus?

Just recently, (the past 2 nights actually) I was priviledged to perform with my church in a Christmas Drama/Musical called "Searching for the King". As the drama unfolded it was about different characters who were searching for "the King": Searching for Jesus Christ. As the story was revealed it was done back and forth through the lives of the "wisemen" of the Bible and some young soliders serving in the Middle-East war.
This story was depicted in a very "real" way so that we may be able to identify with both the men of old and the men of this century. How the Jesus of Old is still alive and with us in the Now. He is the Jesus of today.
Whether or not We, are searching for this King Jesus...He is searching for us.
My favorite song was sung by a group of children who are very dear to my heart.
The Kingskids choir. I am quite partial to this group since I have the honor of being their director.
So, favorite song, because? Some of the words go like this:" What will you do with Jesus? What will your answer be? Will you receive Him in your heart this Christmas? Will you crown Him as your king? Tell me, What will you do with Jesus? Your answer is the Key? Some day your heart, Your heart will be asking? what will He do with me?:" (thank you to David Clydesdale and  others)
Can you think about these words? What will YOU do with Jesus? What might He be searching to do with/for you? Maybe you have no idea what I am talking about or maybe you do? Please comment.  I would love to encourage you towards the Jesus Of Old in the Now. He has a plan for your life even this very day. What ever is true...

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or revceived or heard from me,or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Whatever is True...Just today I read a blog and it was about this verse. This is a favorite of mine and whenever I have a friend in distress I send him/her to this verse. The real question is do I remember it when I am in a moment of distress or dispair? When I am thinking upon things that are false,wrong,impure,awful,not admirable, things that are not worth giving a thought about? And yet, daily thoughts pass through one's mind that would not bring honor to God's name nor bring peace to one's soul.

It is a daily effort to structure our thoughts on those things most worthy. Even if we have to think of difficult things we can pass them over to the one who cares about our every thought, breath and action. And when we pass it along, we can be filled with a peace that words cannot describe.

What about you? are you in distress today? Are you plagued by circumstances in your life that you cannot bear. Call upon the name of Jesus...He really does care for you. He knows how many hairs are on your head( or not on your head as my pastor would say) He knows your name and your address. Invite Him into every part of every day of your life.You will not be Disappointed!!

Seasons of Life

It's been a year since I started this blog and low and behold I only wrote on it twice. I only have two friends who found it and probably didn't keep following since mmn' nothing new written. I am thinking it was quite a busy year. I have to say this was a good spiritual season for me. Have participated in multiple Beth Moore Bible studies with the ladies at our church and they have been such an inspiration. They have helped to stir in me a new desire and hunger for God's word. I have learned so much in one short year of these studies. It may even have been longer than a year now that we have been doing them on a regular basis. Lots of homework, it doesn't always get done. I am thankful that God has chosen and used this woman to touch millions of lives across this country and perhaps others. I feel like I am writing an advertisement for Beth Moore Bible studies,(www.lifeway.com) but really it's an advertisement for studying God's word. And embracing it. So today I say Embrace God in a new way. Whether it is through His word, a friend, a phone call to someone in need, a gift, a Prayer, even a sigh. You can sigh to Him and He knows just what that sigh means. Hopefully this will encourage you today.
Jesus Loves YOU...whoever you are and where ever you are.

Be Still and Know that I am God...

So this is going to be a bit comical i think. I actually broke one or two toes yesterday walking into a metal chair leg while "rushing" about. So none of that was comical at the time, just in retrospect it seems a bit comical. There wasn't anything funny about the pain part.
So my last blog was about the Call of God and staying in the plan He has for us.
I have a week off and now have a foot that needs to rest. Today I was thinking. Oh Lord, did you really need to let me break my foot to keep me still enough to hear your voice and do your will.
I suppose if you saw the unwritten list in my brain that keeps getting added to of "What to do while on vacation/off work" you would say a big YES to that question.
There will be less confusion about what I can't do this week, and will be great reflection about what I actually do this week.
It seems that reflection before action is a great idea.

Take my advice, don't rush especially into a chair with your foot.

According to His purpose

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose Romans 8:28

Called according to His purpose?
Have you ever looked back at your life and thought about all of the things you have been called to do. Have you done them? Are there things that you still think you are called to do and have not yet been done?
I have been amazed when I look back and see just what has been accomplished and at the time, I may not have realized it was happening as part of the "call". There are some parts of my life I know I would have liked to do without, yet I know I would not be the person I am today If I had not been through these parts of my life. Gods word talks about how He will not allow us to go through trials that He cannot bring us through. The key to this is that He must be the one to bring us through. That brings me to submission. Submission to the creator. Isn't it interesting the God created us with a free will so we can actually choose or not choose the path that He would like us to follow. what do you think about these things? do you have a call? from God? of course you do...do you know or think you might know what that is? do you think it can change? mmn...
